Wife of the General Overseer, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Mrs. Folu Adeboye, has advised married women to support their spouses to lessen the harsh economic reality in the country.
Adeboye made the call at the All Sisters Conference organised by the wife of Pastor in charge of RCCG Region 31, Mrs. Felicia Adeyokunnu, of the Overcomers Assembly Parish, Idimu, Lagos.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, ‘Carrier of his Power,’ Adeboye urged Christian women not to drag the name of Christ in the mud.
She said: “We are passing through trying times in our nation; women should be content. The suffering of today will birth the blessings of tomorrow. Nobody should drag the name of the Lord in the mud by engaging in ungodly ventures to survive.”
The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Bello, urged women to see themselves as carriers of God’s power, adding: “Wherever you are hidden, you will be noticed. I urge participants of this conference to key into all that has been inculcated in them.”
The wife of former Governor of Lagos, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, commended the organisers, saying the theme speaks to the mood of the nation today. She urged Christian women to embrace humility, give sacrificially and pray fervently.
On her part, wife of the former Governor of Cross Rivers State, Mrs. Onari Duke, urged participants to strive to have mentors that would serve as guides to ensure they succeed in their chosen endeavours.
“What makes most women give up on business is what some of these mentors had gone through. Challenges in life are inevitable. If all hands are on deck, these women would definitely succeed and mentor others,” Duke said.
